We began the way most great braiding shops begin: with a pair of hands, a heritage of technique passed down rather than taught in a classroom, and a small circle of clients who told their friends. Twenty-five years later that circle covers most of southwest Houston, and the work has not changed — only the number of people sitting in the chair.
Our specialty is protective styling done properly. That means knotless as the default rather than the upgrade, tension you can sleep in the same night, and parts clean enough to hold their line for two months. It means telling a client that the waist-length set she has in mind will be too heavy for her density, and showing her something better instead.
We braid more than fifty styles — knotless and goddess braids, boho and French curly, Senegalese twists, traditional Fulani patterning, locs, cornrows and full kids styling. Whatever you arrive with, and whatever you have seen, there is almost certainly a version of it we have installed many times over.
The salon is on Richmond Avenue and we are open seven days a week. Come as you are, arrive with clean detangled hair, and let us do the rest.

A quarter-century at the chair
Twenty-five years of braiding is not a marketing line — it is muscle memory. It is why our parts are straight, our tension is even and our sets still look intentional in week eight.
Your edges come first
We braid knotless as standard and we will tell you honestly when a style is too heavy for your density. Protecting your hairline matters more to us than upselling you a size down.
Authentic African technique
Fulani patterning, Senegalese twists and traditional cornrow work, braided the way they were taught to us — not approximated from a tutorial.

Appointments are scheduled with real chair time attached, so you are not sitting in a waiting room for three hours before anyone touches your hair.

Our policies, stated plainly
Nothing buried in the small print. These are the six things worth knowing before your appointment.
Deposits
A $30 non-refundable deposit confirms every appointment. It is applied to your total and covers your braiding hair. The remaining balance is due at the appointment.
Arriving prepared
Please arrive with clean, detangled hair and your previous style already removed. If you need a takedown or a wash first, book it alongside your appointment so we can allow the chair time.
Lateness
Braiding is booked in long blocks, so a late start affects everyone after you. If you are running more than 20 minutes behind, call us — we will tell you honestly whether we can still complete the style that day.
Rescheduling
Give us as much notice as possible and we will move you to the next available slot and do our best to carry your deposit across.
Pricing
Listed prices are starting rates. Final pricing depends on length, braid size and add-ons such as human hair, curls or beads. We confirm your total before we begin.
Guests and children
Appointments run long, so please limit additional guests. Children not being braided are welcome but must be supervised at all times.

Secure your chair for $30
The deposit is non-refundable, but it comes straight off your total and it covers your braiding hair — so you are not paying extra, you are paying early. The balance is due at the appointment.
